12th KTAA National Taekwondo Championships

July 24, 2021

Dear Taekwondo competitors, coaches and families,
I would like to extend our warmest greetings to the entire Taekwondo community and a special welcome to our first-time participants. It is with great pleasure that I invite you to participate in the 1st Taekwondo Cultural Festival / 12th KTAA National Championships. This technical tournament caters for beginners with some novelty events for those who just want their first taste at a tournament, as well as our more experienced athletes.
We want to encourage and motivate sportsmanship and the spirit of martial arts in our competitors, we will be awarding medals to all competitors, as a reminder that this festival is not just about winning gold medals, this festival is about gaining a cultural experience, developing confidence, and building a warm and caring attitude that will last a lifetime. I hope that all our athletes will learn from this experience, and with the continued practice of Taekwondo, learn the true meaning of the martial arts spirit.
We will offer the following 11 events: Poomsae (individual, pairs, teams, freestyle demonstration and Para Individual divisions), Board Breaking (power and technical), speed kicking, flying side kick, jump front kick. This will be an open opportunity for athletes to showcase their Taekwondo skills and demonstrate their 5 Tenets of Taekwondo: courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control, indomitable spirit.
The goal of this Festival is to provide a positive, safe environment that promotes the spirit of sportsmanship, fairness and respect allowing competitors to dig deep and demonstrate their skills whilst enjoying a friendly competition.
