Brisbane Open 2019

Greetings!
Welcome to the 7th Brisbane Open Taekwondo Championships. Our tournament committee welcomes all athletes, officials, coaches, volunteers and spectators. We sincerely appreciate the participation of teams that travel so many kilometres. We hope that everyone will have an enjoyable time and when the tournament is over, you will travel safely home, with pleasant
memories. Hopefully, new friendships will be made, and previous ones renewed.
For the first time this year we are being sponsored by Daedo. As a result we are introducing in line with Daedo’s new product range a ‘Marvel Superhero’ competition for under 12’s. It
will involve the use of the ‘Ironman’ hogus which light up upon impact, it will also involve the use of Spiderman and Captain America hogus for manual scoring.
This year’s tournament is back at the Sleeman Sports Complex, Queensland’s premier competition venue, only 25 minutes from Brisbane Airport.
The Brisbane Open will predominantly be utilising Generation 1 & 2 Daedo electronic scoring systems with 3e head guards. The rules implemented by World Taekwondo effective from 1 June 2018 will be utilised.
