2025 Gold Coast Open Taekwondo Championships

Dear fellow Taekwondo Family,
Welcome to the 17th Gold Coast Open Taekwondo Championships, our past events have shown some great growth in numbers competing, and we expect this year will be no different. We have some exciting news to share with you this year with the inclusion of a NEW NOVICE division for black belt Kyorugi athletes. This new inclusion will open up the Gold Coast Open for athletes with limited Kyorugi experienc and open up the athlete base to many more possible players, fostering a better, safer development path for ALL athletes.
Additionally we are adopting the European competitions convention by merging our youth divisions into a 2 class structure A and B Class. In doing this we anticipate that there will be a greater chance for athletes to compete in bigger divisions and thus having less ‘Match Play’ divisions.
Once again we will be placing an Athlete Cap of 300 Kyorugi Athletes for each of the sparring days. By the placing an entry cap means we can better assure you all a quality event, finishing at a reasonable time on each of the days. We encourage you all to ensure you get your entries in to avoid any disappointment and missing out.
This year we are keeping our SPEED KICKING Contest, which will be conducted via a single elimination draw, exactly like we did last year.
